Smart Subsea and West Coast Water Blasting are the trading names for Smart Endeavours Pty Ltd, as trustee for the Smart Trust. Smart Endeavours was incorporated in February 2014 and is 100% owned and operated by the Smart family.
Smart Subsea is a Commercial Diving and Marine Services contractor serving the Greater Perth region of Western Australia and beyond. With a wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry, Smart Subsea has the ability to compete your projects on time and in budget, while ensuring safety, quality and the environment are at the top of the agenda.
West Coast Water Blasting is a specialist high pressure water blasting operator, providing high pressure water blasting machine rental and services, with a range of equipment for surface and subsea operations. West Coast Water Blasting has been operating for over 15 years, and was acquired by Smart Endeavours in 2014. Since our ownership of the business we have completed a wide range projects including offshore and on-shore diving campaigns for marine growth removal and surface preparation, surface works, to concrete removal from abandoned drill pipe.

QUALITY, HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT
Smart Subsea operates under our integrated Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Management System Manual (QHSE-M) in March 2019. The QHSE-M describes Smart Subsea’s systematic approach to the management of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental matters within all company operations.
The Smart Subsea QHSE-M is in line with the requirements of ISO9001:2015, ISO14001:2015 and ISO45001:2018, and has been substantially tested and reviewed during company operation.
Smart Subsea engaged auditors to commence the accreditation process in October 2024, with the aim of achieving certification of the QHSE-M in early 2025 following stage 2 auditing.
Smart Subsea is investing significant resources to these efforts and welcomes client input as we progress along the road to full accreditation.
PERSONNEL
David Smart
Managing Director
David is the Managing Director of Smart Subsea and is responsible for the day to day operation of the company. With a background in engineering, and over a decade working as a diver in the offshore oil and gas industry, David provides steerage of the company and maintains extremely high standards throughout the company and its' operations. Along with an extensive engineering background and hands on experience, David is responsible for ensuring that all jobs are completed safely, in accordance with standards, in budget, and on time.
Oscar Shepherd
Operations Manager
Oscar joined Smart Subsea in 2024 as the Operations Manager. Oscar has a proven track record in the commercial diving and ROV industries both onshore and offshore, having worked around the world as a saturation diver and ROV pilot. Oscar is a qualified boiler maker and is an expert in subsea welding procedures and processes. Oscar manages all projects with the support of the management team, and provides support to the diving supervisors to ensure smooth and safe operations.
Kristal Stedman
Accounts Manager
Kristal joined Smart Subsea in January 2023 to support the business in administration and accounts management. Kristal also manages employee certifications, enquiries, purchasing and HR.
Diving Supervisors
Smart Subsea employs a carefully selected group of diving supervisors to meet the demands of individual projects. With a large pool of supervisors in our database, we select the right supervisor for the job based on experience, and where possible, we dedicate supervisors to specific clients and job scopes to ensure continuity of service. Our diving supervisors are the onsite point of contact with our clients and have total support of the company management at all times.
Commercial Divers
Our divers are the people who are at the front line of operations. We respect our divers and are committed to providing them with a safe and productive place of work. We have a large pool of divers available to us, most of which we have built up deep friendships with over many years of working together. Our divers are highly qualified in what they do, be it construction, inspection, maintenance or whatever else the job may throw at us. We have the right people to get the job done, and we provide them with the right tools to do the job.
Marine Crew
Smart Subsea hires experienced and qualified marine crew to operate our commercial vessels. Our crew take extreme pride in their work and ensure the safety of passengers and assets is of the highest priority.
3rd PARTY COMPANIES
Smart Subsea works closely with a number of specialist marine service providers to compliment our operations. Working with strategic partnerships we are able to deliver complete works packages to meet our clients needs.
We use strategic partnerships for provision of additional support vessels, barges, pile driving equipment, crane and transport services to name a few.
